Amy Winehouse? She’s the last person that should be associated with this video. She’s not punk or rock. It’s more an homage to Patti Smith than anyone else.
She’s doing Courtney Love before Courtney. Check-out G.E. Smith on guitar. He became leader of the SNL house band in the mid to late 80′s.
@whatsername1234 You can split hairs on it all you want but in terms of dysfunctional BEHAVIOR Amy Winehouse IS very similar to the Candy Slice character. No one else but you is even disputing that obvious similarity.
@starqz and the only obvious similarity is drugs. performance wise and how shes dressed is totally different. at least in my eyes since i have an interest in punk rock in the 70s
@starqz again it was a parody of PUNK ROCK singers and musicians. and Amy Whinehouse shouldnt even be brought up cause she isnt a big icon of punk or even rock and roll in general. shes just a tweaker. and also it pre-dates her.

@whatsername1234 Then you should know what I said was an ironic comparison to how similar Amy Winehouse is to Candy Slice, and how Patti Smith obviously inspired the character of Candy Slice, in looks certainly if not behavior. Amy Winehouse IS the Candy Slice of the 2000′s..I don’t think you’re too ignorant to see the obvious similarites to the two of them.

None of the female comics on SNL could touch Gilda talents…some have some close, but none have touched Gilda’s star. R.I.P. She surely was one of a kind.
